One of the early adopters of M2M wireless communications has been the security segment for monitoring of security systems over wireless networks.

M2M communications costs have reduced significantly over the past 3-5 years, with cost savings in hardware and wireless network operators tariffs. Wireless solutions also provide low cost, rapid and easy installation of a security application into a customer's premises.

M2M wireless solutions provides 2 way communications to/from a central control station allowing remote surveillance, access to control systems, motion detectors, lighting and access points. The control station can remotely authorize access to controlled areas with the ability to open and close locks, doors, gates via the wireless network within seconds.
